Oak Hill Programs: Pre-K – 8th Grades

Oak Hill School is able to meet students where they are at every grade level, thanks to small class sizes and outstanding instructors. In addition to the regular school day, we also offer after-school care and activities for students, as well as a robust summer program. We challenge students to develop their intellectual, creative and social abilities through hands-on experiences. Students learn to think independently, problem-solve and work together as a team, which lays the foundation for higher education and a well-rounded life outside of the classroom. Pre-Kindergarten: Ages 4 & 5

Oak Hill School’s pre-kindergarten program is welcoming and dynamic. Welcoming ages 4 and 5, our program is intentionally small, capped at eight pupils, to ensure that our youngest students receive the care, attention, support and education they deserve. Because of the small size of the program, there is often a waiting list and so we urge you to start the application process right away. In addition to age-appropriate instruction that prepares them for a school environment and elementary-age academics, our pre-K students are encouraged to be inquisitive. It is a safe, secure and beautiful natural environment to explore and learn.

Lower School: Grades K-5th

Small class sizes and exceptional teachers are a couple of the many reasons why families appreciate Oak Hill School. Our elementary-age students learn how to navigate the world through problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity and teamwork – skills they will need throughout their lives. In addition to core academics, our lower school students benefit from an immersive experience that includes foreign languages, nature education, music, theater, visual arts, physical education and more. As part of our lessons students study and practice nature journaling, beekeeping, cartography, geology and geography, and the Oregon Trail, through grade-specific curriculum and exploration that is focused on vital, interdependent relationships. Our goal is to ignite interest, inspire inquiries and bestow knowledge.

Middle School: Grades 6th-8th

During middle school, our students develop strength, confidence, character and independence. At every age, we embrace cultural diversity and encourage our students to have positive, supportive attitudes, as we support them for who they are and who they will become. Our highly qualified and empathetic teachers help them navigate the waters of this pivotal time, as they foster friendships and evolve into young adults. Small classes, remarkable instructors and proactive communication ensure that parents know how their students are progressing. Our middle school students study and practice core academics, foreign language, visual arts, music, theater, technology and more. From snow camping to mountain climbing, students also learn essential skills and develop a deep respect for the world around them through our outdoor pursuits program.

After-School Care: KIDS Club

Our after-school care staff facilitate fun and engaging activities for students in grades K-5, Monday through Friday, 3:15pm-6:00pm. Our main focus at KIDS Club is to give kids a structured break from school and time to practice and apply their social skills. KIDS Club offers weekly-themed crafts that explore a variety of topics, such as animals, cultures, science, and more. We also teach one social/emotional learning lesson each day to support positive interactions between students. And, of course, there’s plenty of outdoor and indoor free time. Families register for this program, which comes with an associated cost.

After-School Enrichment

We offer a variety of extracurricular classes and clubs that explore the recreational and academic interests of our students. Some of our many clubs include Minecraft, robotics, speech and debate, book club and more. Students enjoy a favorite recreational activity while learning and practicing science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) without even realizing it. Our instructors create classes that interest both them and our students, ensuring that everyone is aligned, excited, and engaged so that meaningful connections are made. Families can register students for these after-school classes and clubs throughout the school year.
