Lower School

Oak Hill School fosters our children’s awareness and participation in the global community, teaching three foreign languages weekly beginning in kindergarten. The values of tolerance and understanding are further supported by the rich community of international students who attend Oak Hill.

We support classroom learning with diverse physical education each day. Students may also choose to attend our vibrant after-school enrichment programs, allowing even the youngest to immerse themselves in activities like sewing, singing, chess, dance, computers, theater, language, yoga, and more.

Visual arts, music, and language programs enhance and support the themes of classroom.

  • Our award winning art program allows for creative visual expression in a variety of media, including pottery fired in our own on-campus kilns.
  • A unique public speaking program produces poised children who communicate effectively with others. Oak Hill students are articulate and comfortable in their world.
  • A well rounded and diverse music program introduces students to the fundamentals of melody and rhythm, inspiring the joy of musical expression.

The beautiful physical surroundings enhance the learning experience. With rolling green hills, native oaks, wildlife, streams, bee hives, and organic gardens, the seventy-two acre campus is an inspiring tool for teaching science using hands-on methods.

At Oak Hill School, small classes are key to the success of our students. Our exceptionally qualified and caring educators employ a holistic approach in nurturing the development of every child. Critical thinking and analytical skills are emphasized. Students become independent thinkers at an early age.

Oak Hill School families are active and involved. Parents support classroom and extracurricular activities, providing resources that enhance the cultural climate of the community.

We build a powerful foundation in lower school, from which children learn to discover their lives with passion and confidence.
